Terms and Agreements: The workshop leaders are biblical counselors, not therapists or psychologists. They are not licensed by the state. 

The Hope Ahead program is a biblically-based course of study designed to draw you closer in your relationship with God, present new information about your thoughts, actions and choices, and encourage you to walk out of darkness from past hurts (including sexual abuse, abuse, abandonment, betrayal, divorce, etc.). Hope Ahead is NOT a support group. We are Christian women in community, helping each other to live the abundant life God promises to His beloved children in the faith. 

Trigger warning: There are stories in Hope Ahead that describe deep hurts from sexual abuse and other traumas. None of them are in great detail, but there will probably be words, images and stories that bring back your personal images, emotions and stories. We are very aware of this possibility and we try to give you tools and tips to handle those triggers without self-destructing. You can work through the Hope Ahead book before the retreat with a counselor/therapist to diffuse those triggers. We also explain that the women who have been through the course do not fear triggers anymore.
